the foodie bits

Ever since I can remember, I’ve loved baking. Some of my earliest childhood memories are of standing in my grandmas’ kitchens helping them bake. Those were the days of those fascinating scales with metal weights marked with ounces and pounds that you had to balance, rather than electronic ones which boringly work at the press of a button and you just have to watch some digital numbers. I’ve never followed recipes exactly, mainly because I usually decide on a whim to do some baking and I never seem to have exactly the right ingredients. This has led to a few disasters, but, as far as I can remember, none of them have been inedible, and generally my creations turn out well. Cooking in general is something that I really enjoy, and again, I have done for as long as I can remember, in particular when a friend and I decided to cook a three course meal for my parents when we were just 11 years old. These days I like to involve my toddler in baking as much as possible, to pass on my enjoyment of it, if he’d like it too.

On this blog I like to share what I’ve been up to in the kitchen. It’s mostly baking, but also some other recipes that I think are particularly worth sharing. If you want to read these, please click HERE, and be prepared to have your mouth watering in no time!
